Note: In a career context, all numbers are restricted between 0 and 5. However, in a match context, the numbers are not restricted.
For simplicity, we are changing the scale here in the report and expressing every Match Impact number as a percentage. The maximum percentage (100) is assigned to the highest impact player of the match. All other players in the match are scaled relative to him. Negative Match Impact indicates that not only did the player not contribute in the match, but he also had an adverse effect on his team’s chances.

Scorecard

Rising Pune Supergiants won a rain-affected contest against Delhi Daredevils by 19 runs (D/L) on Tuesday (17 May).

Ashok Dinda continued to be a thorn on Delhi Daredevils’ side – his Bowling Impact against them is 37% higher compared to what it is in all IPL. Dinda finished as the highest impact player, and bowler, of the match for his three top/middle-order wickets in the evening’s most restrictive spell (3-20 off four overs). He was ably supported by Adam Zampa (3-21 off four overs) and the pair ensured RPS wouldn’t have a stiff target to chase.

Based on the performances of both teams, RPS had a 67% higher impact than DD in the match. As many as nine players from DD failed – an indication of just how abysmal they were as a team tonight.
