Note: In a career context, all numbers are restricted between 0 and 5. However, in a match context, the numbers are not restricted. For simplicity, we are changing the scale here in the report and expressing every Match Impact number as a percentage. The maximum percentage (100) is assigned to the highest impact player of the match. All other players in the match are scaled relative to him. Negative Match Impact indicates that not only did the player not contribute in the match, but he also had an adverse effect on his team’s chances.

Scorecard

India beat Bangladesh by 208 runs in the one-off Test in Hyderabad on Monday (13 Feb).

For his all-round effort, Ravindra Jadeja edged Virat Kohli to finish as the highest impact player of the match.

Jadeja scored 76 runs across both innings (60 not out and 16 not out), but it was his bowling that secured the result in the home team’s favour. He claimed six wickets in the match (2 for 70 and 4 for 78), was extremely hard to score off ( Economy Impact ) and kept the opposition under pressure ( Pressure-Building Impact ) in the fourth innings.

Jadeja was the highest impact bowler too, edging R Ashwin in the process. While the latter also claimed six wickets in the match (2 for 98 and 4 for 73), he wasn’t as economical and didn’t put the visiting team under pressure either.

Kohli, meanwhile, finished as the highest impact batsman and second-highest impact player for the 242 runs that he scored in the match (204 and 38).

Mushfiqur Rahim was Bangladesh’s highest impact player.

As many as four Bangladeshis and two Indians failed in the Hyderabad Test.
