Note: In a career context, all numbers are restricted between 0 and 5. However, in a match context, the numbers are not restricted.
For simplicity, we are changing the scale here in the report and expressing every Match Impact number as a percentage. The maximum percentage (100) is assigned to the highest impact player of the match. All other players in the match are scaled relative to him. Negative Match Impact indicates that not only did the player not contribute in the match, but he also had an adverse effect on his team’s chances.

Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Delhi Daredevils by six wickets and stormed into the playoffs. Their superior Net Run Rate meant that they finished second in the league and would now face Gujarat Lions in the Qualifier 1 in Bangalore itself.

Virat Kohli finished as the highest impact batsman and player of the match. He came out to bat at 5 for 1 after the early departure of Chris Gayle. RCB lost AB de Villiers cheaply soon after (17 for 2) but Kohli absorbed the pressure (of falling wickets) brilliantly and remained unbeaten on a brilliant 54 off 45 deliveries. Kohli has now produced 16 very high impact performances in his last 21 T20 inns. In that stretch, no other batsman in the world has produced more than six such performances.

Lokesh Rahul, the most consistent batsman in IPL 2016, was the second-highest impact batsman of the match for his 38 in just 23 deliveries.

Yuzvendra Chahal displayed why he is the highest impact bowler of the tournament with another high impact performance with the ball. He picked up three top-order wickets in the Daredevil innings.

Based on the performances of both the teams, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a 21% higher impact than Delhi Daredevils in the match.

Four Royal Challengers Bangalore players failed in the match. In comparison, Delhi Daredevils had five such players.
